In this one-week course, you will learn
how to make fire using materials available in nature, identify tracks and
stalk animals, build a hut, find food, walk silently through the forest,
camouflage to near-invisibility and read the sounds of animals and the
lay of the land like book. Our instructor, Matt Hollen lives in a hut he
constructed himself, back in the Pine Barrens. He has taught these skills
throughout the country. For two weeks, he will be living in a shelter here
in South Toms River, and teaching.
