The Gatherer Institute is designed to help foster a worldwide culture of respect: respect for the environment, respect for self, and respect for all life. We must consider the impact of our actions on our fellow human beings seven generations from today. We need to recognize that someday we will be the honored ancestors, just like we honor those who came before us. Most importantly, we must do all that we can to take care of the Earth and help improve the current global environmental crisis.

The Gatherer Institute believes we can develop greater respect by fighting mediocrity and apathy. We need to develop our greatness as human beings. 2008 'CARE FOR THE EARTH' WORLD TOUR

We are very pleased to announce our newest project, with Native American performer, Kenneth Little Hawk, to take his Little Hawk Show on a 'Care for the Earth' World Tour in 2008. Little Hawk will be an ambassador of the Gatherer Institute message as he performs around the world. Little Hawk had a highly successful 2 month tour in Australia last summer in 2006. He delivered over 30 performances in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Darwin, spreading his message of respect for nature and all living things. The Gatherer Institute is currently seeking sponsorship for the Tour by corporations who are leaders in supporting the environment. A major component of the 'Care for the Earth' World Tour is to promote the new United Nations "Billion Trees Inititative" to plant a billion trees worldwide by 2008. The goal of the Tour is to help people realize they can help the Earth by simply planting trees and conserving energy. As Little Hawk says, "We are all a part of nature, not apart from nature." more info

LIVING A PRINCIPLED LIFE

Much of our modern society needs wiser leadership, emotional guidance and environmental education. Too many people tolerate deforestation, selfishness, destruction of the family, substance abuse, and a lack of respect for our elders. There is a surprising lack of concern for the future, our children's children, and for life in general. The Gatherer Institute believes all people can lead a more principled life.
